really.

So, I had a drink last night. It's been just over two years. I went for pizza at this greek place with Kristin and Corey, and I felt like a strongbow. We went to the ship and I got a tiny half glass of it, to look at and smell. Finally, after some reasonable discussion, I drank that, and ended up having two half pints. So, basically, a pint of strongbow last night.

I had fun. It tasted good. I had a buzz. But I didnt like the way I felt completely. I also didnt like the odd feeling when I got up at 7 to go to the bathroom. Absolutely not hung over, but just.. not right.

I'm not upset or sad that I did it, but I dont think that I will again for a while. It just doesnt seem that great or worth it. Ah well.

Now, to get ready and head to the tattoo convention.

i ate crackers for dinner. i havent packed yet for calgary. at all.

and tai chi starts in 5 min. im going to be late.

i want a do over for today.

rain rain

Its pouring out. Very Vancouver. I had hoped for a bit more sun as this summer seemed to be more like winter. Ah well. Off to work now, to put in an extra long day, in the hopes that I can get everything done, and can take tomorrow morning off as well.

Currently I am leaving work at 12:30 to drive to Calgary. But I want to be home in case a package is delivered. Arg. Stupid work. Why can't they get by without me?

A friend is sending a resume over to another studio for me today. And another girl is good friends with someone high up in yet another. I do hope I can stay put though.

I've got mail!

It wasn't what i was hoping it would be, but its still super pretty earrings that some friends made me, from Iowa. I'll get pictures later!

And, I am downloading tales from earthsea, as yes, I am compelled to see what its all about, and how bad it actually is. Whether or not i'll have to time watch it is another story.

the hunt continues

I have a lunch date today with Tania, who is a talent manager at work. I had been told from one of the producers that she may be needing some help in her area coming up, so I'm hoping that that is true.

She also kicked off an email yesterday (so she said) to try and find something else for me, so that I don't leave the studio when my contract is up.

Of course, no one knows that I am leaving for good in Jan-Mar of next year, but I do need to work until I go! Being unemployed is expensive business, as I hope to not find out for long overseas!

Fingers crossed that I can find out soon what is in store for me. I will have to start looking for work outside my current studio if they can't give me an answer soon. Boo.

Also, where the hell did August go? I had wanted to be more aware of my plans, so that I could make a decision on whether or not to move out of my apartment, which would have meant giving my months notice this weekend. That certainly isn't going to happen now, so that is pushed back a month now. I hope I get some answers soon!

small world

So, a few weeks ago, my ex from LA texted me to see if I would have time to show some friends of his around Vancouver. I guess this couple from Sweden was travelling around, and they were coming here and didnt know anyone. Unfortunately, I am so busy with work that I declined, as I can barely keep my own life straight these days, nevermind be responsible for someone else in town.

He just wrote me on myspace, and I guess this couple is the same couple that was interviewing Allen at the Ink and Iron show in Long Beach! He figured it out because my back is in one of the photo montages (sp?) that they did.

So, I guess they wouldnt have been total strangers, though I doubt I would have recognized them to see them again. Would have been funny though. Maybe they'll be at the Calgary show this weekend.

And with that, my two dedicated readers, I ask you this: Will you be in Calgary next weekend?
Amalie, I know you won't be, but you guys should really look into it sometime, not that you are in need of more places to go, but its huge and alot of fun! And Dave, youre only a few hours away... will you be there at all? I know I missed you last year....

texty text

After missing three calls, Al finally got through to me. I met Al in Australia in Jan/Feb of '99. Emailed a couple times over the last 10 years or so, and reconnected again on the glory that is facebook. It was super fun talking to him again, and having a quick catch up!

He is still in Oz, but moving back to New Zealand (where he is from) in Nov.

How jealous am I that he is still essentially travelling?! Well, OK, he isnt travelling anymore. He got married and has a kid, and lives in Australia. But that's what I want to do! Be living somewhere else. Not necessarily married with kids. Yet. Oh heck, you know what I mean.

Took me a bit to figure out how to text him back that I was able to take a call, but figure it out I did! Yay for international texting! Too bad Bell doesn't text Denmark or Hungary. What's up with that? Why the heck not??? It makes no sense... but when I figure it out... Oh man....

bang bang

So, we dragged poor yellow dresser out past Misson, to some gravel pits on crown land. It sulked in the back of the truck...

And then a bit more out in the field. I think it was a bit worried at this point.

I put 5 rounds of slugs in it first, followed by Mike..

Followed by a round each of buckshot...

Birdshot may not look like much but it sure does the trick!

My shoulder hurt after another round with the 12g shotgun so I let Mike go crazy on it...

Which he did...
Took a few shots at it with my new .22
Doesnt do too much, but there ya go...

In the end, this was all that was left! =)

I did some shooting with my new little Ruger 10-22!

Love it!

It was amazing how many shells there were in this area.
There are literally thousands. Every little coloured bit you see there, red, blue.. are all shotgun shells!

And last but not least, my rifle.
Yes, yes, I'll have to sell it again before I go, I know that!
But I can have my fun. And fun was had, rest assured!!

Jeg tale lidt dansk

I just finished up my first danish lesson with Julia! Or rather Lektion et.

Jeg Hedder Corey.
Jeg kommer fra Canada.
Jeg tale engeslk og lidt dansk.

Hvad med dig?

I also had to listen to 'Smuk Som Et Stjerneskud' by the Olsen Brothers. It's some song that Denmark won for, in some contest. I don't know. I just know that I had to listen for the words 'stjerneskud' and 'kærlighed' and count how many times they were each said. I was one off on both.

I'm sure you have your own opinions about the song Amalie.. but I think its funny. In a lame way. It was also the first Danish song I've ever listened to.

Now, it's off to Reliable to pick up ammo for shotguns! I'm going to go blast up a dresser I've had since before I was born. It's been with me for 30 years now, so I can't really give it to anyone. I need to take it out. And what better way than blowing it to smithereens! Plus I won't be able to go shooting overseas anymore, so get it in now!

After bullet shopping, I'll be at work for a few hours, then off to the woods. Pictures of the dresser's demise to follow!!

(I've taken pretty much all the stickers off of it now, but you'll see...)
