kelowna pt 2?

so turns out having two cameras with you means two sets of pictures from the same place.
but different pictures.

three years later and she still hasnt touched my grandpas drawer in the bathroom.
its very sad but at the same time, its oddly comforting to see his neat and tidy ways still around.

kelowna

so i did have a very nice weekend with my farmor.
its always too short, especially when you have to pack a drive in the snow in there.
that fact that daylight is so short doesnt help matters either.

ill have to get there some more in jan and feb...

anyways, it really was looking alot like alberta while i was there.

this was saturday, when it snowed all day.




























and on sunday, once it had stopped.














it actually got colder than this, but i wasnt into going out to take more pictures.

for some reason i am awake at almost 1 am.
oh wait, i know.
its so damn cold in my house, that i have a space heater on in my room so that i dont die.
but it actually made it uncomfortably hot in my room.
so now im awake.

and this is what is happening outside.
its still snowing hard.
(*oh yeah. it had all melted from friday)














i have a feeling im going to see alot of snow in the next week or so.
come on florida!

today

i went to the bank
i didnt work as hard as i should
i emailed the danish consulate
i emailed a company for a quote to ship some stuff to denmark
i got reassured by amalie
i had lunch with a good friend paul
i had to walk up the hill home cause the bus didnt come
i froze because of this
i stopped at jj beans to see kate and had a good little catch up chat
i got new pics of her super cute kids
i came home and ate
i froze because of this (its super cold in here)
i watched tv

tomorrow i have to run out at lunch and freeze
and then i have dinner with friends

thursday i have lunch with my friend kathy
and then i have a christmas party for another studio
fingers crossed for some cute boys i can flirt with that i dont actually work with
maybe makeouts
a girl can dream

friday i get my hair cut
and then go for noodles with janine and claire and deandra
then i pack

saturday janine drives me to the airport and it all begins

its crazy here. so much snow!

the drive was fine, just slow. in my personal opinion, he drove alot slower than was needed, but certainly the speed limit was too fast for our city car with its rain tires. roads were packed down but not sanded, and it blew snow in our face the whole way. took a bit longer, but we didnt even see any accidents!

it looks alot like how calgary normally looks in the winter. or edmonton for that matter. on a regular winter day. now, for kelowna, its nuts. this just doesnt happen here. and its still snowing right now.

i took this picture at about 230pm. that is the second time that guy had shovelled his walk today. he needs to do it again now. i have more pics but we only put that one on my grandmas computer. more when i get home. it got down to -7 celcius today too. its -10 now at night.

tomorrows drive should be interesting. we'll have more weight in the car but it will be just as slow. fun times! at least it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, and we had some good talks.

k-town

im heading to kelowna tomorrow to spend the weekend with my farmor. im excited for the weekend and the visit for sure. its so relaxing there cause there isnt anything to do. and its so quiet. ill bring my danish and let my grandmother heckle me about it.

the only bad thing about it is that im getting a ride there with a guy from work. scott is very nice but odd and more than a little annoying.

its a 4 hour drive there.

in good weather.

its supposed to snow tomorrow.
you can check the highway conditions with me by looking here at the live camera feeds of the highway. we'll be driving the coquihalla highway. they took out the tollbooths. yay.

fingers crossed for decent weather and clear roads. ill be sure to take some pictures somewhere along the way.

im also really hoping that my throat isnt getting sore and making me sick again. cause it seems to be making round two at work. no being sick!

one day to kelowna relaxing.
one week and one day to calgary and the start of my three week trip.

somehow i got behind on my advent calendar.
i dont even know how that happened.
so this morning, i get to eat two chocolates!
great way to start the day. maybe i am starting to like chocolate more.
or maybe its a phase.
either way...












and yes, todays chocolate is, in fact, a squirrel!!
