just cant leave well enough alone

so, when i got my high nostrils done, it was said that they wouldnt work. this is the first time ive tried them. third actually. but this is the first time with neo metal jewelry, and i swore they would work this time. well, one is working beautifully. the other was sinking into my nose, so while nicole was still in seattle, we put in a longer post, and actually stretched it up a very small size, cause that was all they had.

since then, its been getting much better. so, why wait til its all better? hell i dont know. instead, i decide to change it back myself. now, high nostrils are not a very accessible piercing, but i did it just fine. and i wake up this morning to my nose being a bit swollen and, you guessed it, the post sunken into my nose a bit. sigh. ill wait it out for today and see if the swelling will come down. cross your fingers.

if i have to put the longer one back in, i might be out of luck, since it was a bigger size. im such a jackass. oh well, whats done is done right?

nog

i just went to the grocery store for some things, and saw egg nog in the fridge. egg nog! i love it so much. i will only have like, 3 glasses over all of xmas but i love it. is there egg nog in denmark? i am out of touch with the world, i realize this. i hope there is.

i love christmas. i cant wait for it. im going to turn on my christmas lights right now. if the cord is accessible. yes, they stayed up all year.

everything must go!

i need to start selling my stuff off. not cause im pressed for time or anything, but because i just feel like i need to start making a move. start packing the things that i dont really use on a daily basis, like things that are more decorative. so that i can see how much i really have to bring with me, and what maybe i need to get rid of. im so damn sentimental that its going to be really hard. im being tough on myself too, but some things i just wont let go of.

maybe i can wait til january to start getting rid of some furniture. ill do that. but man. so much stuff. i need to get down to that flea market and get rid of some stuff!

i also have a ton of textbooks from my accounting courses. they are 6 or 7 years old now, so i cant sell them back. i guess i can start tearing out the pages and recycling those... arg.

i dont know what the feeling is today, but i just feel like i want to massively minimize everything right. now. so i can see what im up against. and the only way to do that is to get it all out of here!

Boum!

after hearing/seeing the absolut vodka commercial again, which features charles trenet's song, boum, i decided to find more. turned out i already had a bunch on my computer but i did add to the collection. i love old music and this is no exception. of course, i have no idea what he is singing about, as my recognition of the french language is very minimal. it will make for some nice walking music this morning.

its full fall here. getting colder. raining more. i am so looking forward to florida and texas in two months!

doh!

dont you hate it when you wash your sheets and you are so looking forward to crawling into that fresh clean smelling bed, and then you stay up late and are super tired and ready for sleep, and realize that you havent put said sheets back on said bed yet?

*sigh*

im so tired too. =(
oh well, it will be even better when it get it all together.

night!

as the saying goes...

"poor planning on your part, does not constitute an emergency on my part."

unfortunately, it does.

amidst all of my chaos at work yesterday, planning to reorganize and move 200+ people to new spots in the office and making a futile attempt to have them be happy about where they end up, someone had a last minute flight to be booked.

my wonderful manager, knowing what is on my plate right now, told them to send it to me instead of taking it on herself.

so i finish up with a bulk of the move stuff and get back to my desk at 5:20 pm. 5:21 pm i get an email about this flight that needs to be booked. this is the first i have heard about said flight. the guy needs to travel on monday. our travel agent closes at 5 pm. so i try to book using their online tool. it quits halfway through and will not reopen. so i book it through travelocity and am done with it. (after, of course, running around the office to see if the traveller was still there to tell me what time he wanted to fly at, since i have been given minimal information. i even had to google the event myself to find out what airport he should fly into. honestly)

so today, i check my work email, which i never do on weekends, to see about something that has come up regarding the moves. instead, i find an email from the people arranging the event, saying that the flights are wrong, and he should actually be flying out on tuesday. (i would like to add that the travel days were given to me by marketing, who, when called to be asked how long they had known about this trip ((a few days)) said that they were really busy and forgot to tell me. right. like i am just sitting around doing nothing)

i have now been sitting here, on my saturday, listening to the same crappy muzac on hold with travelocity for almost 27 minutes. im sure it will be much longer yet til i get someone on the line.

needless to say, i am not impressed. i have better things to do with my time. and yes, i could leave this til monday but i cant risk flights not being available or the cost going up more. we will already be paying a change fee for this. arg.

TGIF

and man am i happy for it. long week!

i love the direction that my work is headed for me. and i love to hear how much everyone loves me. if only they knew... *sigh* oh well! i can't even bring myself to think about not moving so whatever. i can deal with pushing the move date back a couple months, but not going? oh im going. everytime i see someones pictures of europe or even just travel in general it makes me sad and anxious to get going.

its hard to blog without capitalizing than i thought. im so used to doing it that half the time i dont even think about it, it just happens. half the time. ill keep aiming for consistancy, but it may all go down the tube..

got my hair somewhat done last night. i thought it was going to be cut as well, but we just barely trimmed it. ill go for the new cut/style before my big trip at christmas.

tonight janine is coming over for pizza and maybe we will go out. i dont know where but im sure she has some secret plan that she is going to play off as something spontaneous. she is like that. we shall see.

i was certain that i had something else to write about but its gone now, whatever it was. but i can share with you the fact that somewhere in my nieghborhood, for the past two weeks, someone is doing construction starting at or before 7 am. right now they are cutting steel or concrete. its loud. do you lose your caring for other peoples sleep when you are a construction worker? i know the job needs to get done but come on. jerks.

my arm is itchy.

urg

that is my word for me. right now.

(as an aside, i think ill give up on capitalization in this blog, as i am already infrequent with it. so this way, its all the same. right?)

i had an alright day. but at the end, someone really pissed me off. went over my head when it wasnt necessary, and about things we had already talked about. nothing super major, and my manager gave me some good advice which i will follow. but i am still mad. really mad.

i am also pms-ing, so that is probably why i am as mad as i am. also, why i cant just let it go. i mean, im home now. is there any reason to still be mad about something that happened at work? no, there really isnt. and yet...

on my way home, i was stewing, and probably giving dirty looks to innocent passer-bys (i did try to stop that) and while waiting for the bus i got thinking.

you know when you have a bad day, you have that someone to call and just complain or whine to? or just rant to?

well, because of my job taking up so much of my time, because i dont drink and havent been going out as much (at all), because im a hermit and i play video games instead of doing things, because im lazy, because im saving my money, all this. because of all this, i dont have that person to call here in vancouver anymore. truth be told, i dont know who i would call right now, if i did want to suck it up and pay the long distance. maybe kristin. yeah, id call kristin. but im cheap (did i mention i was saving money?). but still. i have created a wedge between me and my once close friends here. maybe its just a natural growing apart. maybe it was meant to be. maybe we arent the same types of people so it was never meant to last. maybe its so that its easier to leave next year (ok, lets face it, i wouldnt have cared about that anyways).

whatever the reason. i dont have that someone to pour myself out to. yes, i have you, my readers (all two of you), but sometimes you just want a voice on the other end, ya know?

anywho, enough emo drama for now. im going to go eat a ton of cheese just in case that will make me feel better. cheese can do me wrong, can it?

A week in review

This past week at work as been a whirlwind. So much to look after, with only two weeks until the wrap party and the big in studio move. Having Halloween come on Friday sure didnt help anything, and I'm sure I'm behind because of it. I did scare a good number of people at work though, even *after* they figured out it was me...

Also! I got my contract extended until Feb 13! So at least I dont have to worry until that time, and we will see what goes down until then! Still dont know what my thoughts/feelings are about leaving soon after being made full time, which will have to happen when this contract ends, as they have rules about being contract for more than a year, and that will have me two weeks over a year!

Came home friday night after work, and marvelled at how many damn fireworks were set off during the course of the evening. For a while there, it was like an entire crate was lined up down my street cause the noise kept going for 7 min solid. And then just big bursts here and there for the next few hours. Thanks for that Vancouver. Calgary certainly does not do fireworks for Halloween....

If you havent seen the post below already, I had my first sit on the top of my arm yesterday with Steve Moore. I havent had just line work done for years, there has always been colour or shading worked in as well, so this is nice. It will all be healed in a few days! But because of this, we only wrapped it in saranwrap. So! At about 530 am, I woke up and was only aware of the crinkle noise of said saran, and was aware that the vaseline-ish stuff on my arm was now going to get on my sheets, as said saran was moving about. I tried to sleep being still, but at 630 am I gave up and had a shower to wash it all off.

After this, I forgot that it was daylight savings time here, so I thought I slept in past a breakfast date with Shauna and her son. Luckily it all worked out and breakfast was had and enjoyed, despite the hag of a woman who kept trying to signal to Shauna to take Brodie outside because he was shrieking every here and there. Sorry lady, its a family restaurant, so deal with it. You try reasoning with a 16 month old. It's not like we were ignoring him and letting him scream. Some people! She probably needs to get laid more...

This afternoon now, has been spent napping. I think laundry is in order, and maybe some vegging out time on the couch. Yes, that sounds nice.

I leave you with a shot of my costume from yesterday. Its not a full shot, so you are missing the sexier part of it, but you get the idea of why everyone was so scared/disturbed!

go go Steve Moore!

I dont have much else to say. Did the first two hours today. I didnt change anything in the drawing. We talked colours, but I may just let him do what he wants.. Next sit is in 4 weeks for 6 hours!!!
